Are you tired of football? Are you all, “more like Super Dull, amiright?!” Well good news! AMC is running a Season One and Two Marathon starting Sunday (Feb 1) morning at 10AM/9c! That’s 19 episodes! The mini-marathon wraps up at 6AM Monday morning, so bring your Red Bull. Curious which episodes are best (according to IMDb users) and when they air?
Season 1
Episode 101: “Days Gone Bye” The one that started it all! Definitely worth a watch! And it’s DEFINITELY before the Super B—Big Game. I mean Big Game.
IMDb User Rating: 9.1
Catch it: Feb 1, 10AM/9c
Episode 102: “Guts” The one that came after the one that started it all! Also, Rick and Glenn cover themselves in guts to walk amongst the dead! This is where I started to realize this show was going to be really, really disgusting, but just you wait…
IMDb User Rating: 8.6
Catch it: Feb 1, 11:30AM/10:30c
Episode 106: “TS-19” This one veered the hardest from the comic to date, and I feel like there’s a bit too much overshare, but hey, that’s just me! I do love it when the characters can take showers. I’m just OCD like that.
IMDb User Rating: 8.6
Catch it: Feb 1, 3:30PM/2:30c
Season 2
Episode 207: “Pretty Much Dead Already” Well the shit hits the fan here, if you’ll pardon my language. The group learns the truth about the barn and, sadly, Sophia.
IMDb User Rating: 9.2
Catch it: Feb 1, 11PM/10c
Episode 212: “Better Angels” Rick vs Shane. Shane vs Rick. It all goes down here.
IMDb User Rating: 9.1
Catch it: Feb 2, 4AM/3c
Episode 213: “Beside the Dying Fire” The world goes to hell, but a mysterious, katana-wielding stranger saves Andrea…
IMDb User Rating: 9.2
Catch it: Feb 2, 5AM/4c
Ohhhhhhhhhh my God. I just started reading the comic. I just learned about donna and the real original group. I’ve been reading it nonstop but so far i love the differences and changes to the show. I encourage everybody to watch the first episodes. The walking dead is such a deep show and it’s good. The comic is good. Me and a friend of mine have a comic something like walking dead that would do the same Damage to tv. Walking dead RULES!!!! LOL. seriously tho Kirkman and Crew you guys are F****n awesome
Your one of us now…
Happens/ed to a lot of us here. I remember when it happened to me — I hit the comic at the start of Season 2’s mid-season premiere. Read up to the events aligned with the show, tried to parallel reading to the show, & could not stop. Have been high on it ever since!
Pace yourself – I got up to date with the comics way too quickly and now have to wait a month (a whole month!!!!) before the next comic comes out. I tell you, it’s enough to make you wish for a zombie apocalypse on the comic team… (a month!!!)
Yes pace is key, i seriously blew through a TON of twd when i started, i figured it would take about a season break to get caught up in the comics, fast forward 3 days and im bored again hahaha
When I started on the single issues, we were doing the bi-weekly thing… I got spoiled right off. This once-a-month thing is HELL!!
Bi-monthly… I meant bi-monthly (bi-weekly would be nice, lol!).
I have only read the first comic. They just opened a comic store in my city. Am thinking of having a nose. Total comic book newbie. Though do like female villains. Cat woman, Black Widow, Harley Quinn … I think it’s time I delved into some comics.
This show and comic are addicting. I love watching and now reading
Oh! I forgot to ask, did we beat the superbowl for ratings? Im not really expecting to cause it wasnt a premier but still, theres alot of people needin to catch up, plus folks like me who had their shit to amc all weekend
Lol not gon lie i watched the superbowl but that’s only because I’ve watched season 1 and 2 more than enough times to know the story. The superbowl was a great one tho. Go #Patriots happy they won. More happy that season 5picks back up in a week
I’m one of the 17 people that didn’t watch the Super Bowl & didn’t care to. I caught a few eps of the Zombie Bowl early on, but later that night, Netflix had my attention. I’ll do a TWD DVD binge over the summer withdrawal break.
