Dave Erickson is a very solid writer in my opinion. He wrote for Sons of Anarchy when it was at it’s best I like this announcement.
Totally agree. Anyone from SOA is more than welcome in my book. Now they just need to add Vince Gilligan.
Yeah, after a season that was half padding we really need another series to run alongside it.
What is this series about? Just follows another group of people with diffrent stories??
Yeap, a totally new story arc based on Kirkman’s universe.
I am so not feeling this! I just feel like a spin-off, companion, whatever is not the thing to do. I want 100% put into the one show we love. To add another show is like reality TV = overkill. If it’s due to upcoming brutality & the F-bomb king, migrate the show to a premium channel. Just don’t dummy it down or split it off! Keep giving me webisodes, which are too scarce & consider a prequel on the big screen.
I see it as less diluting the series and more like enriching it, think Star Trek, did the “next gen” spoil because of “Deep Space Nine” or “Voyager” IMO no it didn’t if anything the expanded universe drew me even more in to the world.
I love the Webisodes, and the reason i love them is because they dont follow the main group. I’m not sitting there every minute thinking this is the “Ben and Bill” part or this is the “hunters” etc etc. A whole new group not from the comics but within the walking dead universe, sounds great to me.
the main show is great, this for me has the potential to make it greater.
Here’s hopin’! Either way, I’m tuning in. My thoughts are that this companion series is from the Telltale game.
That would be an interesting direction, and as you know I haven’t played the game so the story would be new to me. (though I do intend to pick it up for the break between season 4 and 5) I really just want good stories that keep me coming back for more and if this is through the main show , a companion, a spin off, the comic or something else, at the moment its all good.
If they did it from the Telltale game it has the potential to be as good or better than the original Lee and Clementine are some of the most solid characters from The Walking Dead universe.

Go for the Game of the Year editions. They always have a little extra content.

No not yet they will probably make a disk at the end of the season. I prefer disk also .
That’s what I’m talking about new character’s hopefully military, medical or perhaps in a different country there is a lot of places they could go with the story .
it would be great to see a different part of the country, see how they are dealing with everything. Have you seen the webisodes? I think Cold Storage is a perfect example of what a companion series could be like. when Cold Storage ended I really wanted to follow those characters and see what happened to them next.
Yes I’ve seen them all I like that one you’re talking about they could make a show following those characters or it would be cool if we followed a new set of characters each season.

They start off in Vegas and head to Area 51 for shelter, that’s your first season right there!!!
I have never been to Las Vegas it has always been a dream of mine . It would be interesting to see what a community so crowded and lit up would be like without power plus throwing zombies into the mix . The process of that happening would be a directors dream .

Agreed anywhere but New York, its like in the UK everything is set in and around London, like nowhere else matters.
They put the first set of webisodes on the S2 DVD but Cold Storage never made it on S3 DVD. I was disappointed!
