You’ve been clamoring for news about the Walking Dead Companion Series (technically not a spin-off) and we’ve got some for you! Adam Davidson will be directing the pilot episode! Davidson has directed episodes of Hell on Wheels, Community, Suits, Treme, Elementary, Big Love, Fringe, True Blood, Friday Night Lights, Rome, Dexter, and WAY more. He was launched into the spotlight when his short film, The Lunch Date won an Oscar in 1989.
One of the biggest jobs for the director of a show’s pilot is helping to set a visual tone for the entire series. With a ton of experience under is belt in a variety of genres, it looks like Adam’s up to the task.
He joins showrunner Dave Erickson who’s developing the series along with Robert Kirkman. TWD alums Gale Ann Hurd and David Alpert will serve as Exec Producers along with Kirkman and Erickson.
With all the pieces falling into place, could casting announcements be far off? Or, ya know, like a plot synopsis? I mean, we could tell you but we’d have to kill you.
It would be awesome if it was about the Saviors or the Hilltop
I would like to audition I’m 37 male and would love a break out role or chance can you hook me up Liz …….thanks I love your blog and posts spiritworldinvestigations@ymail.com or twitter : @richmolster ……also instagram : Richie_tara much walker love
The only one of those I’ve watched is “Elementary”, which I enjoy.
But, True Bloods?
This isn’t going to be some teen-throb, glittery zombie show is it?
TrueBlood had some excellent gore and fantasy elements. It’s not anywhere near the ballpark of Twilight which I assume is what you’re thinking of.
Yippy yippy I can’t wait!
Yes, synopsis and cast please!
If it’s similar to the webisodes, like Ronan mentioned, with an ep or two spotlighting different characters, it may be OK. Otherwise, I remain skeptical.
Bring a prequel with cameos to the big screen, I say!
Put on your rose-colored glasses Basty! It’s going to be fan-fucking-tastic!
Well, anything that is even remotely associated with The Walking Dead is worth a peep!
