When last we saw Daryl and Carol, they jumped into a dilapidated car in hot pursuit of the vehicle that may or may not have kidnapped Beth back in Season 4. Then, in what has surely been the biggest cliffhanger of Season 5 so far, Daryl staggers out of the woods at the end of Ep. 503, looks back into the woods, and calls, “Come on out.”
AND THEN CREDITS ROLL.
So, who do you think is with Daryl? Vote below in our poll to let us know!
[yop_poll id=”78″]And now that you’ve voted, the question is… why did you pick your answer? Let us know in the comments, we’re interested in hearing what your theories are about this enigmatic ending!
It is Carol carrying Beth, something bad has happened to Beth and they need to get her well again.
I don’t think its noah.. I think he is with beth and Carroll at the place there being held. Who knows , it could also be Morales.
I can’t see why Carol would be hesitant to come out & Daryl sounded a little perturbed at whoever was lagging behind him, so I wouldn’t think it is Beth. It wouldn’t be a potential enemy, otherwise they would be in front of Daryl. Morgan still has some catching up to do, I think. So I gotta go with someone new who possibly knows what may have happened to Carol and/or Beth.
Darryl was careful with whoever is in the bushes bc they are not KNOWN by
The group. So its not carol or beth. Could be morgan BUT he morgan knows
Enough about rick to sort of convince darryl. Its got to be someone new.
Lily! Tara said she was overcome by walkers but I don’t buy that shite.
It could be Aaron from the comic.
It’s [CENSORED BY MANAGEMENT. Let’s tread lightly here, even if it was in the trailer, which we know now was intentionally false].

I think it was Beth and I’m also thinking Carol decided not to come back .
When Beth sings it feels like a ray of sunlight is beaming down on the limbs of a weeping willow tree . Then the leaves change colors in the maple beside it while a canary sings in the meadow yonder . A beaver uses it teeth to construct a dam in the river as the bass swim freely . That’s the vibe I’m getting from this next episode . Beth makes me happy . #ThugLife
I recognize that player prose anywhere!
Morgan. Gotta meet the group before they head out to Washington.
So, I have an irrelevant question. Should I read the novels? I like to consider myself a hardcore fan, I’m caught up on the show, comics, and game, and I watch/play/read everything on the day of its release. I also collect variant covers/action figures/signed cast photos. I have nothing against reading or anything, I am an avid reader, I just haven’t read TWD books. So, are they worth the buy? (I’m an OCD collector, so I will buy a brand new copy of every one)
Fellow hardcore fan here & avid reader… I LOVE the novels! Definitely a worthy addition to my addiction!
Totally into the novels. Pick up the first one. It will get it’s hooks in you, I promise.

Sorry for double post. Can you delete comments?
I still am leaning towards my first idea from my reply on other thread. I think it might be the DC crew that Daryl and Carol came upon on their way back from identifying where Beth went? The bus crew can’t be leaving us this early so thinking they are going to return maybe?
This show is getting ridiculous. If Daryl is supposed to be such an expert tracker, why is he making more noise than brass band falling down 12 flights of stairs as he stomps thru the woods. He has no idea what the situation with Gareth was at this point. I’m thinking he’d be extra stealthy. As far as Abraham ? Any boot would know ( even more so a salt Sgt) , given the tactical situation , holding in place and defending would be a much smarter action , than heading off into the dark, with no clue of the enemy location. This show desperately needs a military coordinator. They need to take a page from the Ronald Moore & David Eick / Battlestar Galactica playbook and start thinking of an ending, SOON.
1 – I doubt it’s Daryl tromping through the woods like a herd of water buffalo. I think it’s who ever is with him. And if they are injured they can’t very well help it. Just my guess.
2 – Agreed. Abe is a goon. I like him, but really? That mullet isn’t saving anything except Eugene’s neck from sunburn. Put your faith in something else, Abraham!
Judging from your 0341Marine name here – it’s not surprising you’re focusing on the military tactics, and not just watching the show. It’s fiction bro – there are no zombies – so why would you expect it to be reality based from any perspective.
….and 17million viewers says you just may be the only person out there knocking what these writers have going on.
As far as who’s in the bushes – wouldn’t it have to be someone Daryl knows? I mean, he left them behind him ‘while he checks out ahead’ .. if it wasn’t someone he trusted, would he have even let them out of his site at this point?
Anyone’s guess could be right – I’m gonna throw in …. Carol, carrying Beth (thus the noise) and they didn’t come out with him because he wanted the coast to be clear because they weren’t in good enough shape to help if the shite hit the fan when he comes out of the woods….
Could be totally wrong – keep in mind Daryl was only gone for under a day – maybe over-run following the car – and had to turn back – but maybe captured one of the peoples in the car??
