The Walking Dead 115 First Cover

This October is the 10th anniversary of The Walking Dead, and we’re excited to announce that in celebration, issue 115 will have 10 connecting covers. The covers together will form an image that highlights significant moments from the past 10 years of the series. Each of the 10 individual covers will also depict a special moment from a year of The Walking Dead’s illustrious history. These covers are drawn by series artist Charlie Adlard, with colors by Dave Stewart.

Each weekday for the next 2 weeks, we’ll reveal a part of the connecting covers for issue 115. The first cover shown takes place during The Walking Dead’s third year. This cover centers around a scene we’re all too familiar with, The Governor giving Rick the famous “Woodbury Handshake”. It also depicts Michonne and Glenn during their time in Woodbury.

Will we be able to buy all the covers at one comic store?

What I mean is when you send shipments to a Comic Store is it of one Cover?

I think 12 covers of one issue is enough. I’m just hoping there isn’t some ridiculous Retailer Incentive or some 1:200 cover. I’ve dropped many Image titles this year because of their craziness with variants, I don’t want to do it to my favorite Image series.

The only variant in addition to these that should be acceptable in this case is a “single” NYCC cover. Let’s hope that there’s another year or two break between the next batch of multi covers.

Out of curiosity, if you enjoy a story, why would the number of variants induce you to stop reading?

          • ExcludedTim August 26, 2013 at 5:34 pm

To be honest, It’s the OCD collector in me. Some of the titles I dropped have been waning for a few months prior to me dropping them. Then, along comes the variant “rush” which put me off the book completely.

There are other titles I stayed away from because of the qty of covers. Now Image isn’t the biggest offender, but as of late it feels excessive on some titles.

One cover is enough and that is all I am going to purchase. I won’t stop reading your book, but the apparent cash grab is a little over the top. Plus we just got multiple covers for issue 100.

I wasn’t big on the issue 100 Variants. The only reason I want to buy all the Variants for this is because they all have a significance
to the series. The Issue 100 Variants were just random in my opinion while these all were big parts of the series.

WHAT?! I love seeing different artists tackle The Walking Dead. Loved the issue 100 covers.

I enjoyed the ones that were sold for the one charity you guys were supporting. I didn’t enjoy the covers that were available in stores. I have to agree that seeing different artists create covers is awesome. It gives a new spin on the style of TWD and it shows different art styles which I enjoy.

i only started buying issues at 108. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. i saw a chrome cover for 100 and i was incredibly pissed it was for 20 dollars cause i would have bought it as soon as my LCS opened.

makes me feel like I’m being used, like a bad girlfriend who always wants me to open my wallet wider & wider as the relationship progresses, it usually ends quite ugly. I can’t wait until you guys lose popualrity so you won’t make so many covers 😉

          • Brian August 27, 2013 at 10:26 am

Fair enough. We give you permission to pick your favorite variant and buy just that one. 🙂

          • John August 27, 2013 at 11:43 pm

hahaha, I’m gonna try and get all the covers! Your like the bad girlfriend with a great body, not going to let this opportunity slip through my fingers, how can a man refuse? And no I’m not going to do a ‘Negan’ and rub myself on all the covers 😀

If they order all the variants, yes. Check with your LCS to make sure they are, and let them know you want them.

you can pre-order from stores on ebay. I got all 15 covers and the 10 anniversary colored #1 at less than cover price.

i meant 12 covers had 115 in my head.
