As a comic first junkie. This was the one part you shouldn’t of had a shithanger. I was embarrassed at the level of emotion I felt in the comic. I understand that Kirkman & crew can do what ever the fuck they want, I mean, it is their story. Yet I felt robbed of the climax. I’m too ADD to hang onto those feels for what seems like an eternity.
With that said.
NO matter how matter how mad I get or how much I bitch. Please don’t ever stop The Walking Dead.
SHITHANGER
Nailed it !
After the finale, I don’t believe a single word they say…
I’m tired of the superlatives from cast members before and after every episode. You can only cry wolf so many times…
Can’t believe they haven’t gone something to appease the pissed off fanbase yet. Thought we’d get the R-rated Negan entrance cut sooner rather than later. The cliffhanger ending will still be terribly depressing, but at least there would be a few minutes of Real Negan before the stupid POV switch.
“Guys, this is seriously the best episode ever. You won’t believe it. Yours eyes will explode!”
—Every cast member about every episode
Him saying he “knows what happens” contradicts what every vocal cast member has said so far. Why does he apparently know?
That’s publicity hype. Reedus is a turd.
Yes Neutral-Grey. How Does he know. My memory is not always the best but I thought he gave an interview saying nobody new and we all had to wait. It could of been someone else.
The problem is they don’t seem to get it. The creators are under the impression that the fans are pissed off because they can’t stand not knowing and are just passionate when it comes to their favorites. That’s not the fucking case. It took away the impact and true emotion of that scene. It was a truly jaw dropping moment, quite literally as my mouth just hung open when seeing those pages. Being live action, it had the potential to be even more heart wrenching and kind of hard to watch. It was the single most shocking moment in the comics and the show deprived the audience of that, despite hyping it in such a way as to almost promise it.
I’m seeing a lot of misunderstanding, too. They’re saying it’s about Rick going from being in total control to totally losing it. I didn’t feel that myself & didn’t realize that was the intention until I read about it. Regardless, they could’ve very well kept that aspect of it in addition to giving us all what we readers felt from the comic.
If you ask me, Gimple’s reason is bullshit. A cliffhanger should make you go “I can’t wait to see what happens now,” not “I can’t believe I have to wait to find out what just happened that they refused to show me.” He had the gall to compare it to Lost but that hatch cliffhanger left you with a mystery that could be anything. You could write an essay on what it *could* be. In TWD, it’s not an essay. It’s a multiple choice question.
Nicotero, dude who directed the finale, apparently had the gall to compare the storytelling to something like The Empire Strikes Back. If TWD finale was anything like Star Wars than Episode V would have ended with “Luke, I am your…” then cut to black. Cue interview of Scott Gimple saying “Learning Darth Vader IS connected to Luke is the end of one story. Finding out HOW he’s connected is the beginning of another.”
Neutral-Grey, I didn’t ask. I love to hear what you have to say though. I agree 99%. My only correction would be. It was no cliffhanger. It was a shithanger.
Thank you, Omega. Much better term.
Well said.
I got that in the comics. I can see it after reading there intent. To me though it just seems like damage control/lip service. Someone at the top made a choice. Unfortunately they were wrong.
I believe Norman only because the actors are really about the fans and they already have started filming for season 7 I believe and it really is going to tear us apart when we see who it really is.
I think the one that negan killed was Darryl this is why norman came out on the talking dead when Beth died or killed she came out that same day on the interview with the talking dead why did norman came on talking dead 2nd thing his filming his motorcycle show which means he cant be filming both shows ill be tiring n alot of driving for him that will be too much for him and on the show he looked like he wanted to cry
