DANG! VOL. 21 That is a badass cover. I’m definitely going to buy that in the summer. I can’t wait for that to come out. So, what about the Hardcover Book 10?

Me too. I like the hardcovers to share with others, too. The hardcovers usually include some extra art work as well. I’ve even been known to read a digital copy or two. Began reading in the early 60s–,Hunters arc. I like to read the letters section in the biweekly/monthlies.

Same here buddy. Everybody can not wait for the next issue to come out. It’s going to be a huge hit. I want to see Negan turn into a walker. That would be hilarious to see.

          • Owen De Val says:

Think about what the synopsis states… finding new ways to deal with the dead. I don’t know about you guys but I think that that’s a lever and perhaps it opens a hole in the ground or some other kind of trap.

          • Jason Thomas says:

That would be crazy good thinking and observation.

          • Jerry says:

Thinking along Owen’s lines. If you look at the handle, there’s either a cable or a rope running through it…

          • Jonathon Moreau says:

The more I look at it the more I concur. A lever of some sort.

          • Bastet says:

I’ll go with the lever thing. I was thinking that would have to be a mighty big pit & there would have to be someone manning that spot to pull the lever. How would they dispose of them once trapped? Somebody on slaughter guard?
I liked Morgan’s method of “clearing”. Just wait for them to impale themselves. There was even a little evidence of that being done at the prison.

          • Jason Thomas says:

Morgan had the set up .

          • Jason Thomas says:

Morgan would have been such a asset to the prison .

Really looking forward to seeing him again!

        • Gregarious Raptopoulos says:

It’s not a baseball bat. The end is rounded, like a lever or a cane. There is also a cord sticking out of a hole suggesting there are moving parts on the inside.

          Reply
          • Dale's leg says:

Could be a rope which allows him to put it on his back…

          • Gregarious Raptopoulos says:

I’m not going to say you are wrong, but why not just tie a rope around the bat? It seems like it would kind of complicated to drill the holes and run wire through it, plus hollowing out a portion of the bat would compromise the structural integrity if it’s being used as a weapon.

Who’s on the cover? Based on the arm hair I’m assuming it’s a man. And he’s holding something with his left hand. Both Rick and Dwight are lefties.

Description: “Even now, they still find new ways to dispose of the dead.”

Some predictions say issues 127 & 128 will be flashbacks, prior to All Out War – that one of the guys on 127’s cover is Dwight before his face was ironed. But with the description above, I think we can put those theories to rest. The description “even now” alludes to this possibly being in the future, in fact.

And what’s in this guy’s hand? It doesn’t look like Lucille. The knob is different and it seems to be wrapped in beads instead of barbed wire.

My thoughts? The mysterious woman on the covers of 127/128 is Glenn and Maggie’s daughter. Kirkman is flash forwarding at least 16 years. This cover depicts an elderly Rick.

      Reply
      • Paul Monroe says:

I suspect after Wednesdays issue, there is going to be a time-gap between issues #126 + 127. This is of course, pure speculation but that’s my theory. I suspect that after Negan’s inevitable demise, there will be a long period of “peace” which will undoubtedly be shaken up by newcomers as seen in the #127 issue’s cover. How long a time though, I’m really not sure. Aged by a Year, maybe more. I can’t imagine a reason why the survivors would leave these settlements any time soon once the war is over.

        • Bastet says:

Sounds logical. I’m on the fence about the time warp. I feel that whatever direction Kirkman takes this in, he’s not going to disappoint.

          Reply
          • Paul Monroe says:

I’m unsure about the length of time passed within the issues, I suspect there could be a Year or so. To bring Carl to a more mature / independent age so that he will start to really shine as a character separate to Rick. (Who will sooner or later meet his end.)

Yeah, I’m absolutely confident we’re going to enjoy the results of the next few issues and that it may rejuvenate the series again.

          • Bastet says:

Do you think Rick would get killed off before this happens, which would mean he gets killed off this Wednesday? That’s the only thing about warping the time…seems like Rick would not be included.

          • Paul Monroe says:

I cannot see Rick dying during this. I understand your reasoning there, but once Negan has sustained that assault, I’m sure the rest of the Saviors will be taken out pretty quickly by Jesus and snipers.

Also, most of the Saviors are not on the best of terms with Negan and would probably take this opportunity to side with Dwight.

If, Rick’s actually poisoned by the arrow then he could just be delaying the fever and could die in this issue, or through other means. But, I can’t see Rick leaving the series quite yet.

Though, the arm in the picture is quite thin, and the pink on the elbow could suggest someone younger. Could be Carl.

  32. Seanem44 says:

I’m sorry, but I just don’t feel that a huge time skip is possible. At the rate the walkers have decayed in just two years, what would be left after 15 or even 20? Bones?

Im thinking like this. The War has lasted for week’s. Thats A Lot of noise! A lot of shit blowing up! And a lot of gunfire! Other than the small group that attacked Negans camp, we havent seen a herd since the days of old. Its long overdue and completly understandable at this point in the story. What better to bring together these post war communities than the Dead?
