Jason Covey Joins as Senior Vice President, Brand & Marketing
Patrick Gilmore Appointed as Executive Vice President, Production
Skybound Entertainment, a creator-led, multi-platform content company, today announced two key senior hires who are instrumental in building Skybound Entertainment’s brand identity as well as growing the company’s Games Publishing Business. Hot off the heels of the BAFTA-award winning indie game Before Your Eyes, Skybound’s Games Publishing team now hosts a deep catalogue of new projects including highly-anticipated games such as WrestleQuest, Glitch Busters: Stuck on You, VICE NDRCVR, and the recently launched Escape Academy. Additionally, with the launch of projects such as The Walking Dead: Last Mile, Games Publishing will explore established fan favorite franchises such as The Walking Dead and Invincible as opportunities for portfolio expansion.
Jason Covey joins as Senior Vice President, Brand & Marketing, where his responsibilities include oversight of the Skybound brand ecosystem and cross-functional marketing teams across the entirety of Skybound, which encompasses Video Games, Editorial (Comics), Tabletop Gaming, Direct-to-Consumer Merchandise, Digital Content, Animation, Audio Programming, TV and Film. Prior to Skybound, Covey was Chief Marketing Officer for Nifty Games where he oversaw all marketing and brand elements to build Nifty’s profile as a publishing leader of mobile sports games. Before that, Covey has held various senior-level roles for companies such as Hammer Creative, Kovel/Fuller, and Midnight Oil, where his teams led global marketing campaigns for some of the most iconic brands in the entertainment industry.
Patrick Gilmore joins Skybound as Executive Vice President of Production, bringing over 25 years of game development experience from independent studios and startups to major publishers and AAA franchises. Gilmore will oversee all video game production across the Skybound slate. Previously, Gilmore was Executive Producer at Visual Concepts Entertainment (a 2K Games studio), where he led production efforts for the WWE2K franchise. Prior to that, he served as studio head and business leader at Amazon Game Studios, Double Helix Games and Electronic Arts, on a range of products, including Amazon’s New World, Capcom’s Strider, Microsoft’s Killer Instinct, and Electronic Arts’ Medal of Honor.
