**Robert Kirkman is going to be a Featured Speaker at SXSW!

**The Walking Dead #131 came out and, of course, we have a great issue #131 discussion post in which Sophia is photoshoped punching everything and everyone.

**SWAG ALERTS: new pinball machines from TWD show, the Telltale Games announced for consoles including PS4 and Xbox One, and we’ve posted a few preview pages from the Artist Proofs edition of the new All Out War hardcover! They look sweet.

That’s it for this week, Horde. (Yeah, I’m bringing that back) For this week’s secret challenge to see if you read all the way to the end… let’s talk Halloween. Is anyone getting their costume ready yet? Any TWD-related plans for costumes or snacks or HAUNTED HOUSES?

This week was quite slow in the way of news. Sure they had pictures from season 5 but that was it for people outside of the states.

Did anyone catch Z-Nation on syfy? They dropped a walking dead nod the guy said someting like “ran in to a cop and some other survivors in a prison” got to be TWD nod? What did anyone think of it? Poor mans walking dead? Or enjoyable zombie show?

I’ve never heard of it. What was it like? That is definitely a TWD reference.

First episode was on friday over the US, a mate streamed it for me, read a few reviews lot of people calling it a poor TWD, but I enjoyed the first episode, basic premis is that its a couple of years after a zombie outbreak, goverment been experimenting with a vaccine, the last place working on a cure gets over run, turns out the last person they try the vaccine on it works casue he gets bit to crap and dosent turn, so there on a mission to get this guy to a military base so they can use his blood to recreate the vaccine. Oh and it had a full on zombie baby going after someone, which was cool. Lol.

People are always going to try and act like this and that is a ripoff of something else. I just ignore. Kirkman didn’t invent the zombie, after all. He just made it massively popular with a non-horror audience because of his amazing characters and story telling.

Always room for more zombies! I have had friends ask me if it bums me out that zombies are so popular now, when it was always my little obsession–HELL NO. Now that it’s so popular there is so much content, so much more merchandise, so much more opportunity for some good zombie fun. The more the merrier!

I feel the same way, growing up in the eighties with a hand full of remoero film just wasnt enough, now it feels like I can scratch my zombie itch on any given day of the week and find something new.

Hope you can find z nation, was enjoyable and has potential, had the acotor that played Link in the second Matrix film (whos name I forget) in it to.

          • Carly Hudson September 15, 2014 at 4:11 pm

Total agreement. More zombies are good for everyone! There is plenty of room in the genre and no one is going to replace my TWD.

          • Carly Hudson September 15, 2014 at 3:54 pm

And I love zombie babies!!! I have to see if this is OnDemand now.

          • Ronan Barrett September 15, 2014 at 4:26 pm

That sounds pretty cool. You could say that TWD is a rip-off too because it wasn’t the first to have zombies or even focus on a group of survivors. If it comes over here I will probably watch it, especially for the zombie baby! ^0^

I wanted to watch it! I must have missed the premiere. There’s always room for my zombies in my book.

Liars… they don’t have “Sophia punching everything and everyone”

  6. Stuart O September 14, 2014 at 10:52 am - Reply

I’ve been zombieing up every Halloween for years now, even before the walking dead made it cool 🙂

  7. Bastet September 15, 2014 at 8:11 am - Reply

I’m not the crafty person, but I gotta make me one of those zombie head-in-a-jars! Won’t be packing it up once Halloween is over…going right on my Walking Dead rack!

Negan is one of those guilty pleasure characters. Love to hate, hate to love you. Total face melting bad-assness. Makes me so hot. I honestly think he looks like Steven Seagal, right? He’s about as bad-ass as Steven’s movies. I remember my parents making me watch Under Siege when I was 4. I hope that if his character is ever introduced that Steven plays Negan. God that would be sooo fuckin’ killer. I hope they haven’t done casting for that yet and as if Terminus isn’t the saviors hide-away, and it’s obvious that Michonne is the one hunting cannibals in the brush near G.Stokes church instead of Andrea. I also think that Daryl is a parody of Dwight’s character. If Jesus is ever introduced with the name Jesus, that might become controversial, but I honestly don’t give a fuck because I ain’t religious. Making his character gay is great because there is nothing that makes me laugh more then Jesus always is saving the day by giving a fly fucking kick to someones fucking face. Daryl could be his lover, or Aarons. Whatever.. this should be interesting. Did anyone notice that the guy Abraham cracks in the church with the ass of his rifle is black… with a black watch… who else wears a black watch. Yes I disect every fucking scene.

Also, you all should read Roberts other comics, the walking dead isn’t the fucking bee’s knee’s of all fucking shit.

Is anyone going to get to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal? They are doing the whole TWD thing again and I am dying inside a little because my attempts at convincing my husband to fly to Orlando for the weekend for haunted houses failed. Sometimes the man just doesn’t get it!
