Seth Gilliam Joins Season 5 Cast

Seth Gilliam, who portrayed Ellis Carver on HBO’s The Wire, is joining Season 5 as a new series regular! Funnily enough, he‘s actually the third cast member from The Wire to join The Walking Dead, after Chad Coleman (Tyreese) and Larry Gilliard Jr. (Bob).

Although Gilliam’s character is obviously under wraps, fans have been speculating. The character is described as “friendly with a puckish demeanor who also has a haunted side.”

Hm… what are your guesses? Comment below and let us know!

I’m definitely thinking Father Gabriel! And that Beth is with him & not at Terminus!

Whoever it is I’m 99.9% sure that the person driving the car from the funeral home will be Father Gabriel!

When it was said that Gareth was a combination of two comicbook character, some people speculated that he is a mixture between Chris the hunter and father Gabriel. (Which makes a crazy religious cannibal..) Well now I think this guy is the real Father Gabriel here.

So that leaves us with a question: Chris + ??? = Gareth?
I’d like to know what you think.

    (Sorry for my bad english.)

Gareth = Chris of The Hunters and Douglas Monroe of Alexandria Safe Zone. Terminus experienced their own all out war with a character like Alexander Davidson and many died. New guy = Father Gabriel and Beth is with him.

maybe it is Father Gabriel, due to the haunted side for what he has done in the past, when he wouldn’t let any other people into the church at the start of the outbreak

I got bored and I edited his face. He kinda look like father Gabriel.

He’s either Gabriel or a crippled man that was mentioned to appear next season. It was revealed that he’s crippled because well he is also a prisoner in Terminus; the home of cannibals.

The casting call was for an 18-year-old who can play (and subsequently look) younger and is also a single amputee whilst this dude is in his mid-forties and has both legs, so it’s a no go on that

You’re way off. Not Garbriel, but Douglas Monroe. Think about it, the show has a history of mixing up races and ages – Carver could easily pass for a senator and leader of a community, much more than a pastor who is a little pathetic.

If this isn’t Gabriel, then I’m not a magical unicorn leading time wizard from space!

Although not a regular in either series, Vincent M. Ward (Oscar) appeared in both The Wire and The Walking Dead. That makes 4 Wire cast in TWD.
