He’s a phenomenally rich and complex character. Nothing in this world is black and white, good and evil, there’s only gray.
Rick and Negan are two sides of the same coin. Just as Rick and the Governor were as well. Had it not been for Carl, his innocence, and his dependence on his father; Rick could have easily become a monster much like Negan, or the Governor. And on the other hand, Negan could have been a great man, leader and father like Rick, but time and circumstance chose a different path for him.

About Carl being that equilibrium among Rick’s humanity and his “beast side”, i believe it is because of him (Carl) on the most, but i’d mention other situations and members of that family, members like Andrea, Michonne, Maggie, Eugene (lately), those i mentioned because they are still alive, there are other characters we know as well!
Kikman didn’t show Negan’s past in a deeply way, but like you said, yes i think he should’ve been a diferent person before the apocalipse, the traumas that he suffered and faced are the cause of those evil acts!
Nobody is born evil and insane or a hundred percent good and friendly kind, diferent life’s path is the real reason!

There are so many legitimate, active, and well know TWD fan communities already. I don’t understand why people continue to make fan page after fan page, forum after forum, and all they do lurk on the handful of legit and long-standing TWD fan communities, and steal the spoilers, news, information, and even threads and posts from those sites that work hard to retrieve and confirm information on their own.
Almost every fan page steals spoiler info from TSDF and then calls it their own, when everyone knows full well TSDF is the only fan community with the legitimate sources in Senoia, as well as direct connections to member of the cast and production crew.
But, I guess people view the internet like westward expansion, and get caught up in a sort of 21st-century-cyber-manifest-destiny. Everybody wants to carve out their own little niche of the internet to call their own, even though it’s just a lackluster imitation of a quality community.

Yeah. Too bad those are just promo scenes staged for the EW shoot, so they could get all those badass production still and principal photography. But, the several, small self-contained scenes exhibited in this clip, are not actual footage from any of the episodes of season 5. So, I think a great many people will be disappointed when they realize that there is no epic, bro-time-back-to-back-shootout scene.
I would be absolutely disappointed if they advertised something as a “premiere trailer” & then give us something that is not. I better see a back-to-back shootout in that premiere!

You can tell they’re going out of their way to strike still photograph-worthy poses, while they filmed these small scenes.
Hm…you may be right, considering that the name of the premiere is “No Sanctuary”. I wonder what this “Hunt” is about….or maybe that’s just some fancy name for a promo video shoot?
I have no problems with images to promote the show but I don’t like the idea of video being termed “trailer” if it’s not actual footage! Man, that’s messed up! False advertising!!

You know, I went back & looked at the SDCC trailer (DAMN, that thang is awesome!!) & I saw Rick getting knocked down, got some blurry vision going on, & he’s glancing at what looks like somebody carving up an adult.
Yes I remember that .. and come to think of it, you couldn’t see what was on the slab .. could have been a little person 🙁
