Earning respect in the apocalypse is difficult; especially if you’re a priest who left his own congregation to die at the hands of walkers on the steps of your church. The deleted scene below comes from the third episode of Season 5, “Four Walls and a Roof,” where Father Gabriel had second thoughts about Rick and the gang planning their attack against the Terminus leader Gareth and his cannibalistic friends.
After Father Gabriel questions the morals of the plans and brings up his own past struggles, Rick says, “You know, Gabriel, you did what you did because you were afraid to die.” Watch the full clip below and let us know what you thought in the comments.
Thanks to Yahoo! for the clip. Make sure to grab The Walking Dead Season 5 Blu-Ray/DVD when it comes out August 25th.
really cool. That episode was incredible. Four walls and a roof and No sanctuary were really the greatest! Thanks for the post!
Four Walls and a Roof has got to be in my top five episodes. As jmoore says below, Rick was just chilling in that stage.
Was hoping it went down kinda like the Drake vs. Meek Mill… disappointed, but good enough. Can’t wait for August 25th! Arrgh! 26th is back to school! *cries*
I love the character arc of Rick in the show and the comics. Each of his stages is great but there’s something so chilling about his “kill everyone” stage and they played that perfectly last season.
Part of me wishes he killed him right there.
