The Whisperer War Connecting Covers!

Good morning, TWD fans! Today, THE WALKING DEAD #157 is out and along with it, our first Whisperer War variant! You know we don’t do variants TOO often, but when we do, it’s for major storylines and we like to go BIG. For The Whisperer War, we enlisted Arthur Adams and Nathan Fairbairn to make some of the most awesome, baddest variants to date! But don’t take my word for it…

Check them out connected:

The Negan one is soooo sick!

Rick looks like an angry Jared Leto….Just saying….

Anyone else notice that the carl/lydia cover is the only one that doesn’t have a whisperer on it?

Ahem… I like these better than the A Covers.
    Just sayin’.

Got the first variant today, and I must say that Michonne is making me feel…warm. *Sigh*
Anyway, it looks like a good series is on its way, although I think that Carl may be a little too muscular and I almost did not recognize Rick.
And I do wonder about that blood stain on Negan’s face. Looks like a sign…
We are in for a very freaky ride, my fellow TWDers…

2 observations. Looks like the whisperers are going to roll into battle with the huge horde of zombies they collected as additional troops. And is it just me, or is Lydia pointing her gun at Negan? I mean he did kill her mom. Could be a conflict between the two brewing.

You guys do realize that these are Variants… which can be more bluffed than the norm.

I like the variants, and obviously they do not reflect all that is going on in that issue. But it is fun to speculate… like who beat up Rick, again? Looks like Negan gouged someones eyes out. I am sure that is why he looks so insanely happy.

Carl been getting them gains, I see.

I wouldn’t read anything out of the covers folks. Variants are the last place to look for clues and I doubt the artist of these has even read the whole war arc.

If you see carefully, all the survivors are fighting the whisperers, but Negan, who looks like he is severing his right hand (for the position of the thumb), who the hell knows what that means, but it is bizarre, I think it has to do with Lucille’s “death”, he is performing some kind of ritual or so. Just curious!
