The Walking Dead #150 Discussion

The ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTIETH issue of THE WALKING DEAD is out and it’s in your hands now, so let us know what you thought down below! We’ll be awarding our favorite comment with a Kirkman-signed copy of the MAIN Charlie Adlard cover! If you want to snag one of the other covers signed, keep your eyes on our social channels! And come strong with those comments gang! Love it or maybe just kind of love it, we want to hear your thoughts.

PREVIOUSLY: Rick’s consultation with Negan doesn’t go as planned for either of them. Negan’s advice doesn’t get him out of his cell, and Rick refuses to lie or mislead his people as Negan suggests. Instead, Rick lands on a new idea: training an army to wage war on the Whisperers. Meanwhile, at the end of Sanctuary, Dwight prepares to leave, but not before grabbing Lucille from the back of a closet.

    I liked this issue… But I expected something more…
Rick was the best part of this issue. Laura saying “Im coming with you, fuck those people” doesnt make much sense to me.
    Good issue 8/10.

Well well well, Im not sure what is Kirkmans love affair is with Rick biting peoples neck like a vampire but I must say this is a good issue to start the year off with TWD.

Quote from Negan in todays issue “Atta Boy”.

  4. corallllll January 13, 2016 at 5:40 am - Reply

Amazing artwork on the new issue. This is the bloodiest I’ve seen Rick. And it’s just on the cover.

  5. rfacurojr January 13, 2016 at 5:48 am - Reply

GREAT ISSUE! but I expected something more…
Rick vampire was the best part.

  6. Hogg Head January 13, 2016 at 6:03 am - Reply

When Rick said “Bring him up”, I remembered how Glenn died. I though Rick would take Lucille from Dwight and turn Vincent’s head into pudding.

  7. MikeLacey January 13, 2016 at 6:38 am - Reply

It was a *very* long wait for this issue… So it’s a good job it was a stunner!!

The way Rick reprises the neck biting move just underlines how unflinching he is when he needs to do something.

I was relieved, surprised as well but very relieved, when Rick didn’t kill Vincent in front of everyone on the stage. I was sure for a moment that rich was going to go for the quick crowd pleaser to get them back on his side after the disastrous last meeting. That would have worked (ish) but it would have shown Rick to be changed in ways I would have hated. Good to see the old Grimes shining through.

And get Carl…!! As the father of a 16 yo boy I have mixed feelings about the way Carl is growing. Though not as mixed as Sophie’s are going to be when she finds out.

Rick was awesome in this one! Negan atto boy was great! Dwights storyline will be cool. Andrea vs Lydia in the works maybe? Carl becoming a even more of a man. Eugene and Ricks conversation shows how there good friends. I awalys love how Jesus is with Maggie. And Morton is a jerk. And Vincent was like Nicholas.

Rick’s proving again that “WE ARE THE WALKING DEAD.”

This issue made me tear up a little. I felt like I was standing right there with everyone else rooting for Rick. SILENCE THE WHISPERERS!

  11. roryjames January 13, 2016 at 8:48 am - Reply

GODbert Kirkman does it again. Very excited for the war! So many exciting things up ahead it seems with Dwight getting some shine in the story.

P.S. Can we just get a trade paperback with all of Rick’s speeches please?

P.S.S. Add a Negan quotes bible to that list as well.

P.S.S.S. I shouldn’t even have to put this one, but fuck you if you scare me into thinking a big character is dying again, bitch.

Rick doing the same thing he did to those marauders, just chills. I’m not really shocked by the lack of deaths, I’ve been saying since the introduction of the Whisperers, the comic is going to become less horror and more political. Especially with Rick consulting a “devil on his shoulder”
Waiting for the day he becomes a president-esque figure.
Great issue over all, worth the hype.

  13. aneternaldoll7766 January 13, 2016 at 8:58 am - Reply

I got 5 of the covers today and couldn’t wait to read it. I liked how pumped for the next part of the story this issue made me. *spoilers I liked how rick killed his attacker by ripping his throat out with his teeth (I think this is his official move now and shall be called “ricking his throat out”) the final page with negan gave me a ominous foreboding and I can not wait to see what’s going to happen next.

  14. drewdewce January 13, 2016 at 9:52 am - Reply

Loved the issue. Mr. Adlard’s Rick Grimes has never looked better visually. Powerful story and surely looks to be the beginning of big things to come. At some point I believe Carl will be put between his father and his girlfriend, and it will be interesting to see which side he chooses, or if he can even find a way to have both, possibly with the “power structure” or relationship between the two reversed. Also there will be surely some interesting moments with Negan thinking he might actually be pulling Rick’s strings from behind the scenes. Can’t wait to see what happens.

Also, kudos as always to Mr. Kirkman for reaching this milestone issue. The (one time) little book that could is halfway to Cerebus’ 300 and will hopefully go even beyond that if he so desires. Fates willing, I will be there to see where we are then! Congratulations to everyone that’s been involved in it’s success!

It was a good issue. I enjoyed it, but I will admit after all the 150 hype I expected a bigger twist/death/reveal. I understand forming an army will historically be a milestone in rebuilding civilization, but for readers who look forward to the story because they are attached to the lives and emotions of the characters…no real milestones to speak of this month. Rick used to get his ass kicked to a bloody pulp and kick someone else’s ass to a bloody pulp 5 times an issue. Plus he has already vamped out before, could have at least did a hook to the jugular to mix things up. Again, it was a good issue. Not hating at all. I guess I was expecting an issue 100 surprise that never materialized. Also, the variant covers are awesome.

Holy crap. What an issue. Throat bite round two. I was NOT expecting that. Brilliant. Robert Kirkman is a genius. I appreciate this comic so much because of how original and amazing it stays. If you predicted that, let me know. Because that was crazy. 10/10

A wonderful issue overall! This issue really put things back in order and shows that Rick is still a force to be reckoned with. This is a fantastic direction for the story. Although it leaves me with multiple questions about the other communities. What is going on at The Kingdom and The Hilltop? Also what will become of The Sanctuary and how are the residents reacting? Is it possible that they could be a problem in the future? Last but not least, I wonder what The Whisperers are up to (more specifically Alpha). Can’t wait to see what happens next!

  23. guyone January 13, 2016 at 12:03 pm - Reply

Rick should’ve got for the neck bite hat trick by biting Vincent’s jugular out in front of everyone.

Decent issue. Feels like things are going to speed up a bit in the next arc.

Negan is the puppet master pulling Rick’s strings.

  24. Undersolo January 13, 2016 at 12:17 pm - Reply

And now I’m worried… Rick is going to head back to the Ricktatorship, but this time with an army that he will not be able to control. And I have never been more terrified by an “Atta Boy” by anyone than the one given by Negan. The blood is going to flow long and hard this time.
And did anyone else notice that Jesus was not cheering “Rick Grimes” when the crowd was up and raving? I sense something is going to happen here.
And Negan is playing this rather well…

Disappointed in this “Milestone” issue. It is awesome that it has been going for 150 issues and counting but I was really hoping for something more in this issue.

It was underwhelming. With this being such a huge landmark issue I was hoping for a bit more. (Spoiler) no main character death was a little disappointing, I mean we’re all relieved that our favorite character didn’t die. But someone should have (other than a nobody). It was a good issue in the storyline and I really liked that last scene. I wonder what’s going to happen now that Andrea walked in! Can’t wait for 151!

I really liked that during the attack scene, you see Morton’s silhouette in a sequence similar to Negan’s in comic #100. It brought back some traumatic memories from that issue.

Y”see me people! listen to me, The dude covered in that Redneck Guy’s Blood! We don’t want to go back to that! I just did a couple hours ago, and letmetellya, it’s hell! So if You don’t want to be ripping the jugular vein out of the person sitting next you anytime soon with your teeth, Join my Army! Meanwhile, Negan laughs hysterically as he knows the softies upstairs won’t stand a chance against ten bazillion walkers. Jesus also has had happier panels and was keeping his pom poms pretty low..

It’s funny as a series midpoint, the Crux is whether society will be and stay rebuilt, and the lean of the comic has been that it will be…..but as I read it I’m always struck of whether that truly or will be the end game of where the series is and out characters are headed, which, among everything else, keeps it a page turner. Dwight’s story parallels this in many ways,he threw the Chaos represented by lucille in a bag, but still teeters in society…but nothing is a given. excited to see where Dwight,Laura and Lucille are headed!!!

  30. DonnieAlexander January 13, 2016 at 1:51 pm - Reply

If Rick were a character in Mortal Kombat, his fatality would be to bite the necks of his victims! ! ! In my opinion, Kirkman is the best at what he does. He is able to create characters that during Issue 100 I hated (Negan). Yet 50 issues later, and I have grown to love Negan’s character, and I am hoping that he and Rick join forces. Only way to complain would be for the comics to come to an END…

WOW. While this issue might not have been what I’d expected (I, as well as many others I’m sure) expected a main character death), but this was an AWESOME issue. Are we completely sure that Rick isn’t secretly a roamer or a cannibal? 😛 But seriously, this issue was great. It really wrapped things up for this volume, and although it did not end on a huge cliffhanger, I can’t wait for next months. One thing I could see becoming a problem in the future is the Saviors. Dwight and Laura basically left a group of 100+ heavily armed people, who are all pissed at Rick, on their own, with no knowledge of what went on in this issue. One final thing, did anyone else notice that Jesus wasn’t cheering with everyone else? I think he knows that this was Negan’s idea, and fears that Rick is being controlled by Negan. Overall, great issue, I can’t wait for next month’s.

Great issue! The beginning of a new Era for The Walking Dead. Loved the speech Rick gave after he was attack by two of his own. Very interested to see what Dwight does next and being a Marine very excited to see a military form. Will the salute Rick? Ricktatorship…I say yes. Can’t wait for the next 150 issues and amazing artwork and surprises

Damn you, Kirkman for saying Andrea would die in #150! But so glad she’s still alive. Great issue, I was expecting a massacre but I can tell sh*t shall be getting rather real soon. Can’t wait to see what the leaderless post-savior community will do at this point. Thank you for #150 issues of radness.

“Shut up, Rick! You talk too much!”
Rick proceeds to deliver a fucking State of the Union address.

Any chance we could get t-shirts with that quote about him talking too much?

I understand the intricacies of trying to lay out the story and make sure all the cogs are heading in the right direction and that not every issue can be something crazy, but come on.. You’ve got this glorious cover of Rick covered in blood, titled “BETRAYED”, release variants and make it 40 pages and talk about how huge and amazing it’s going to be, refuse to give us even one panel of preview because they don’t want to spoil all of the crazy things going on in it… and then this? I mean, I accept some of the responsibility for maybe expecting too much, but this issue was definitely made out to be bigger than it was. I’m calling shenanigans. Kirkman teased us, got us in the mood, drug us to bed, then said he had an early morning and rolled over and went to sleep.

I love the way there is now a new quote to be used, ‘Silence the Whispers!’ Add that to ‘I believe in Rick Grimes’ and ‘we ARE the Walking Dead!’ This issue had me shaking, I did expect something worse through the betrayal of Rick, but you guys never fail to make things interesting and ads clenching! Congrats on 150 issues! And here’s to 150 more!

Great to see Rick putting Negan to good use, but where were the Walkers? A milestone issue with no walkers?
Kirkman needs to find a better balance between character drama, and mindless cannibal corpses like in the first 75 issues.

  37. jschack15 January 13, 2016 at 6:16 pm - Reply

To the people saying this didn’t live up to the hype and that nothing really BIG happened, that is completely false! Within the past week, I read the third compendium and the past 5 issues to catch up with everything. Just because no one important died or any huge war went on, doesn’t mean this issue was bad. This isn’t only the potential halfway point in the series, but a big turning point in the storyline. Rick is finally going back to his old ways, stepping up when he needs to step up, & it’s time to “Silence the Whispers!” It’s a great transition to an obvious upcoming story arc involving a battle with the Whisperers that is sure to be epic. I honestly don’t know what Negan has up his sleeve, but he sure is getting to Rick and there’s some potential for an eventual team up. I have no idea what’s coming next, but isn’t that the fun of reading comics every week? Not knowing what is going to happen with every panel you see or every page you turn. Keep up the great work Mr. Kirkman and Mr. Adlard! You’ve started off 2016 perfectly in my opinion

re-reading it a few hours later, the juxtaposition of passed out Rick Grimes, Covered in Blood lying next to the now jugular-veinless dead Redneck guy, followed by a page turn four panels later of Lydia Fondling Carl’s Eye socket heat of the moment, was certainly one of those top Walking Dead warm and fuzzy moments. I’d shut the door and keep walking too.

  40. Hayley Raven January 13, 2016 at 8:03 pm - Reply

I think that Rick is a great leader but while he is waiting and training his crew to fight a war he is practically making themselves sitting ducks. I think that while they are getting ready for war they should put all of their food and supplies in a different location so that they do not loose it all. Also without many walkers their is not a big challenge to face, the more walkers the more we will understand that the world has been over run because with the millions of population that have been killed and turned into walkers where are those walkers? And if there are not many people left then they would do more traveling to get to a food source.

-Hayley, I would really love to win this, I have been re watching all of the walking dead up to the new season and have been collecting figurines. I have practically spent all my earn money on the walking dead things and trying to find them. Thanks for the opportunity

    • Neutral-Grey January 13, 2016 at 8:53 pm - Reply

A.) Why would they move their food and water? Alpha killed the people and we know she seemed much more interested in sending a message than performing reconnaissance. So she probably doesn’t know where that stuff is stored nor do they have any particularly strong reason to believe she found those troves. I mean, it would keep the people busy but it probably wouldn’t serve much more than busy work for them.

B.) Corpses rot pretty fast. Especially when they bake in the sun and are exposed to the elements. The zombie apocalypse has been going on the comic world for 4+ years now. No matter how many billions died, the large bulk of them should have completely withered away by now, especially since they lose energy after awhile (as shown in the earlier issues back in the prison days) because they have almost no food sources left, as you pointed out. And zombies aren’t smart. They may wander for food but they don’t know how to find it. Point is, a vast majority of zombies should be gone.

I think if you eat one man’s neck, you can rationalize as self defense. I think any more than that and you have to admit you have an addiction… I love where this is headed, especially with the Saviors. Think about it. They are going to form an army. There are a few soldier types in the family communities but you have to know that the real tough guys are at the Sanctuary. So basically, they’ve already established that the Saviors felt like outcasts and now Dwight is gone. If Rick approaches them about being in an army, they are going to feel like they are being used. Last time they went to war, it was Gregory that was the wrench in the works. This time, I feel like shit is going to fall apart with the Saviors.

“Oh you treat us like stepchildren but when there’s a war to fight you come to us…”

    • jmoore711b January 13, 2016 at 9:20 pm - Reply

While I’m taking the liberty of speculating about future plot points, how cool is this: The Whisperers are lead by an Alpha leader that is probably like a dictator. That leader is determined by combat and can be challenged at any time. If someone kills the leader, they become the new leader. What if someone like Michonne (natural fit) got in there and challenged Alpha, killed her, and became the new leader. That heads off the war.

Hey that’s really good. I’m going to head off now and start my own zombie story.

Super disappointing issue… It was good but there were no surprises. Still excited to see more Magna, Alpha, Carl/Lydia, Negan get out of jail (someday), and of course the mega walker herd. I guess we’ll get to that stuff eventually but I really hope Kirkman throws us a bone in the meantime while Rick is building up his army. The story has been so tight and set up so much I could really use some of that good-old walking dead shock value right now.

  46. grimeyrick January 14, 2016 at 5:52 am - Reply

amazing issue. i don’t even have words for the idiot that says “it should’ve had a bigger twist” or “i expected more.”

i will say, however, that i am pretty salty seeing as i pretty much called everything that happened this issue in the 149 thread and didn’t get the signed issue ;(

    • grimeyrick January 14, 2016 at 8:00 am - Reply

      my input, saltiness aside:

i think that it is a little sad that the issue was disappointing to some people just because nobody important died. i guess that kind of weeds out the true fans. there are other ways to develop a story without killing everyone.
this was an amazing and compelling issue. one of the many issues that was like a movie as i read it. this issue set a lot of things in motion. Rick’s hubris is showing and i fear that will lead to his demise. Jesus see’s it though. maybe his bff will hold it down. We got a nicer look at Negan’s true intentions, and that last page got me giddy as fuck. the biggest takeaway from this issue is that we are on the march to all out war II. sadly, i feel that this issue was the nail in Ricks coffin. I had so much nostalgia reading this issue. obviously the neck biting, then there was his great speech that is up there with his previous speeches (we are the walking dead, we need people etc), then there was him forgiving Joshua’s dad publicly instead of shaming him– completely reminded me of when nicholas tried to stage a coupe, shit even andrea walking around checking rooms reminds me of Donna checking the rooms back in like issue 8 (i believe) and she peeks in to see andrea and dale doing it. great mile-marker issue.
Its dope to hear that the billy/ben story will be mentioned soon. i don’t think Andrea knows, and im not sure Carl fully remembers. Rick is the only one that knows the truth for sure, and I don’t think Andrea will take it very well when she finds out.
early prediction: andrea gets mad at rick during AoWII, and he dies in battle. CONFLICTTT
p.s. if you don’t like TWD, stop reading

Giddy is a good way to describe how I felt finishing this issue, it just went down pretty much exactly as I expected. Your right about the nostalgia factor being through the roof though. It was fun to notice all of the little details and references. The art was top notch too, and it had that cinematic quality you mentioned. Overall a kick ass issue, but it didn’t blow my mind like Walking Dead often does.

I felt that, because a significant character did NOT die in this issue, it was made completely unpredictable & added to the awesomeness of all the other details that you mentioned. I, for one, was not disappointed in the LEAST!

  49. Hades January 14, 2016 at 10:38 am - Reply

While light on the action side this was an amazing issue that progresses the drama and character development. At first one would think the they title “Betrayed” when mixed with the cover would be pointing to something bigger in terms of betrayal. Once you think about it though it is Rick who has betrayed himself all at the push of Negan. He doesn’t want to lie to his people but after the attack he realizes that he has to; even if it isn’t a full lie. The army idea is something to give the people to focus on while the, hopefully, smarter plan is in the works. He has betrayed his own morals as he sees that what Negan as stated is correct about people now. Slowly and a bit less harshly he is becoming what he never wanted to be: Negan. At least in terms of manner of leading. That is at least my takeaway here.

I am a bit curious on the meaning of Jesus’ face during the “Rick Grimes!” pages. He seems to be the only one who is not part of the chants. Something that subtle is most likely going to pop back up at some point I am sure.

  50. megashimo13 January 14, 2016 at 11:55 am - Reply

So did anyone else notice that stern look on Jesus’ face and that he was the only character not yelling Rick Grimes after Rick’s awesome speech? Wonder if there is anything behind that?

    • grimeyrick January 14, 2016 at 12:51 pm - Reply

there definitely is. my two cents: Jesus is one of the real war vets, so he remembers first hand what they had to go through. Rick typically goes to Jesus with things of this nature seeing as he is his right hand man, but for some reason he didnt, and just went straight to the people. this is only a day or two after the tussle at the meeting. the same meeting where Rick said we need to be chill and strategic. Jesus is definitely skeptical. someone also raised a point that i like, what if during all of this military propaganda, jesus forms a rebellion/ resistance group of sorts. i don’t think he would do that to his boy Rick, but i thought it was an interesting theory.

Congratulations on this milestone. The Walking Dead comic and TV show feel as if they were made for me. The thought of a zombie apocalypse is absolutely terrifying and you guys allow us to have a steady view of what it would be like if it were to actually happen. You demonstrate how the living would change into something even more terrifying than the actual zombies and do whatever it takes to survive.

This issue (I believe) will represent a turning point for Rick and Alexandria with Negan playing a bigger role than most expect. With great anticipation I await the next issue to see where we go next. Thank you for consistently bringing a great story with outstanding artwork. I’m looking forward to many more milestones in the coming years! Keep up the great work!

I was really excited for this issue and picked up 4 of the 5 covers (didn’t get the blank cover and got 2 of the tony Moore cover). After I read it the first time I felt a little let down as nobody major died and there wasn’t the introduction of any new major characters. I read it again and appreciated it a lot more the second time. From the last page where Negan shows his appreciation for War Rick to us saying goodbye to pacifist Rick and saying hello again to war Rick.

I really do like that you didn’t take the easy route of simply killing off someone like Carl and gave us a setup to a new major ark. I can’t wait to see where you are taking us in the crazy world of the walking dead (and yes, I created a skybound account just to post about this).

Thank you Robert Kirkman and your amazing team who give us this must have series. Congrats on 150 and I hope there are 150 more.

I have been reading the Walking Dead comics for a while, an never did I ever think it would get better than All Out War. Boy was I wrong; obviously Kirkman and his team are just getting started and I cannot wait to see Rick Grimes and his Army take on and destroy the Whisperers. We are all in for crazy and intense battle between our heroes and the strange Whisperers. Some may fall guy I think we will rise above. Also Carl’s getting it lmao. Thank you all at Skybound for publishing this amazing Graphic Novel that has been a huge part of my life!!!

It seems like Rick isn’t really planning on using the militia the “silence the whispers.” He is just taking Negan’s advice to appease the angry town folk, stringing on training for as long as possible until his militia inevitably goes after the whispers against his orders and destroys everything they’ve all worked for.
And how in the heck does one just train soldiers? All the military type folk we’ve seen are long gone (RIP Abe). Maybe Jesus can teach some King fu, Andrea got shooting, Dwight the crossbow, Michonne swordplay, Rick has neck biting covered, blood magic from Gabriel, street fighting from Negan, and Carl will teach how to survive getting shot by a bullet. But I dunno, still seems kinda makeshift…

I thought the issue was good, it surely wasn’t what I expected. That is what I love about WD.
A couple observations: Maybe I looked at the page wrong, but was the dialog balloon pointing to the wrong Rick-beater on the page where Vincent is wrestling with bad hair dude, trying to get him to stop beating Rick. It looks like the comment that went something like “he deserves it, remember your wife? and my son?”. the balloon looked like it came from bad hair dude, but Mr Bad Hair lost HIS wife and Vincent lost his son! Whoops.
The other thing I thought was interesting is when Rick was done with his speech and the rally cry began. If you look at the crowd they are all excited and/or happy looking EXCEPT Jesus. He looks a bit tweaked and he definitely is not Rick Grimes-ing like the rest. What is going through his head I wonder.
I love the fact there is a group of people that spend time analyzing a $2.99 comic book. We are rock stars.

If Donna was alive… She will tell Andrea like, What do you think how I felt when I saw you and Dale doing it?

Atta boy Rick atta boy. Wonder how Dwight is going to react to Rick’s speech seeing as he’s been on a coward trip since the series picked back up. My man Carl getting the skins lol. Definitely see some conflict between Lydia and Andrea brewing tho. Hopefully it doesn’t tear the family apart. Especially when Lydia finds out they’re building an army and eventually and inevitably going to war with the whisperer’s. She’s already made it clear even tho she knows her ppl aren’t good ppl she loves them. I kinda figured that it would be the redneck from the hilltop to try rick seeing as how they tried Maggie. Hope I didn’t offend anybody with that term. But when rick “claimed” his jugular it just felt so right lol and unexpected definitely. Also love how Rick forgave him in front of the whole community. Showing his humanity toward someone who went against him. One of his own. His whole speech touched me. When he went on about how he lost Lauri and Judi and so many ppl he forgot some it just made me think about how far they had came really. The road. The farm. The prison. AOW. How many lives were really lost and how right he was. His honesty touched me. I felt like I was in the crowd staring at a bloody battered Rick Grimes rallying my own heart behind his words. I can say I expected a little more out this issue too due to all the hype but it still gets a perfect rating because of how special it played out. One thing I do want to know is what happened to Morton corpse??? Shouldn’t he had waken up and ate Rick before Maggie found him. Just a thought. And if that didn’t play out where the hell is walker Morton if everybody turns???. Only confusing part of the issue to me. All in all it was great tho. Can’t wait to read call to arms. I think I’m going to follow this comic as long as it’s published just like I’m going to follow the show as long as it’s aired. TWD is F****** awesome Side note I wanna know what @Bastet thinks???

I’m always late to the party… a nuisance of not having an LCS & having to wait for a print issue to ship from the other side of the continent.
I think somewhere I echoed the thought of Rick being a pussy… I’m at the point of taking that back. There’s more to being a BOSS, a LEADER than just kicking ass & I think Rick is the epitome of that. His forgiveness towards Vincent shows that their strength is in “keeping it together” & that their battles shouldn’t be fought within. BUT when it’s time to kick ass, Rick better come through with it… like he did with Morton. Right now, these people are probably still thinking with only revenge in mind. He’s teasing the dish, now he better serve it up & pretty quickly. A strategic enemy who’s trying to turn the tide knows that a weakness from within can can be his best chances to break a group; that ” ‘Atta boy” from Negan ain’t for nothing!

It’s amazing to get to 150 I truly love twd the artwork is amazing and charlie always does a great job. Reading 150 I think the next 2 comics to come should have been 150 as I think they’re going to be intense, if we look back when Rick locked Negan up his words were I’m going to keep you alive I’m going make you watch what we become so that you can see how wrong you were holding us back. I think Rick is now eating his words in my eyes Negan wasn’t holding him back the saviours protected all of the colonies for a percentage of their goods and Rick wanted to be a dictator but now he’s going backwards. The whisperers are a great threat and need to be challenged.
I hope Negan is released he could challenge Alpha and run the whisperers.
Can’t wait to see what happens next

My friends got the $200 black and white Adlard Variant. I got the Tony Moore, and Blank Variant. Still trying to figure out what I should draw on the Blank Variant.

That last panel. THAT is issue 150 to me. Just because it’s a big issue doesn’t mean someone important has to die, I fucking loved this one, we’re witnessing a turning point in TWD. That vampire Rick moment sent a chill down my spine and I just stopped reading and stared with a dropped jaw. Usually I would go on and on in these discussions but all I have to say is bravo Kirkman & team, and congrats on this milestone. Here’s to the next 150.

My thoughts echo most of these here, except for the ones who are suffering from the hype syndrome. There is so much going on in this one issue that sets the story up further… there’s no way I could be disappointed… no way I couldn’t find myself looking forward to not only the next issue but subsequent issues, because I know there is much more story to be told & the evolution of it is brilliant! I love that no one could predict the unpredictability of not having a significant death this issue.
Anyway, what I really wanted to comment on is how proud I am to be included as a “fan” mentioned by Sean & Robert in “Letter Hacks”. Kirkman states that this book means a lot to him & that it’s a gift to be able to write it for this length of time. This is reflected in the book. With that being said, I feel his comic was written for me, with me in mind. He obviously loves what he does & he loves that I love it. All the creators, etc. of all the other titles I read owe thanks to TWD because it’s TWD that brought me to comics. I’m looking forward to the next batch of frights, shock, thrills, & tears from caring so goddamn much!
SIDENOTE: Adlard’s art is awesome, we all know that… but I fucking LOVE his horses!!!

Don’t know if it was already put on here but i think were definitely getting set up for a Lydia pregnancy surprise, which would throw a little extra collateral damage into the equation. Not sure if this would effect Carl or Rick more dramatically. It would provide Robert and the writers an opportunity to give Rick his last great sacrifice for his son and grandchild. On the other hand I don’t think it changes much for Alpha and the whisperers. They live by an untraditional code and are obviously all content with there situation. Alpha may feel a desire to be with her daughter and grandchild, which would leave opportunity for a new ruler to rise that may not be ok with the communities. Que up the anti hero arc for Alpha as they deal with super herd and whisperers.

All this and I have not a f#@k of a clue as to where Negan fits in. Maybe he rallies the saviors after they go into anarchy. Only the death of Andrea, Carl, Michonne, or Maggie would intice Rick into a co-dictatorship. Love the comic brilliance in an era where impatient readers want a big reveal every issue which has watered the industry down to the point of nausea. Way to go Mr. Kirkman and team on 150. Best of luck on the next 150.

Meh. Time to wind it up now. Keep the universe but look at other people in new comics.

If it was not for Cover #153 revealed before this issue, I would have thought that Rick would have died.
It was a good speech, I did notice that Jesus was the only one not yelling Rick Grimes.
I don’t like that Rick can only defend himself by biting. If he keeps losing teeth, he will have to find a new way to bite people…

So I haven’t read all the replies, but this whole ” Whisperers” thing? They move among the majority, the zombies unaware of their presence. They live in basic, Spartan circumstances and commit horrific atrocities for shock and awe. They insist on a social structure that harks back to simpler times, they owe identity, like “Alpha”. Sound like something familiar? This is an awesome metaphor for insurgents in our society. If somebody already mentioned this I am sorry if I am repeating the theory, but it is really clever, some sweet social commentary. The response by the survivorsis to ramp-up the military and wipe them out. Thanks Kirkman, love your work.

So I just caught up with the comics, I only started reading a few months ago and now I’m finally up-to-date. This was incredible. I can’t wait to see what they come up with against the Whisperers. I have a bad feeling though, that was a LOT of people and zombies to go up against. He is definitely going to need Negan’s help. 😛 I feel like Dwight leaving was a bad mistake though, and I wish Laura had done things a little differently.

My vote, as always, is MORE MICHONNE! I can’t get enough of her. (And I’m still mourning Ezekiel for her, too. Seeing her so upset…ugh…)
