In the comics, Negan is the notorious foul-mouthed leader of a group called the Saviors. They use fear to rule over Negan’s community and enslave women to be his many “wives.” The Saviors were ordered to attack neighboring communities if an ongoing ransom wasn’t paid and savagely beat *SPOILER* to death in front of the surviving members of Rick Grime’s unwavering group. What ensued was an all out war sure to play out in Season 7. He’s most notably known for his barbed-wire bat, Lucille, who plays a HUGE role in the story.

Fair warning to anyone who hasn’t been out there reading yet:
Plenty of major entertainment sites tell when he appears, some more specific than others.

I could’ve done just fine with a surprise on the casting but I’m sure that was impossible at this point. I do like this guy, tho. Just not all that excited, now that I know who & when.

    Excellent!
    Now, AMC, about that swearing?!?

    Things about to get real, ADAM SANDLER isn’t ready ;_;

The swearing…. this is what needs to happen: Just mute the F-Bombs and other colorful language. Bleeps would sound silly. But muting, in my opinion would be fine. And then, when the DVDs are released, put them back in.

This is what has to happen. Negan’s “artistic” language is such an important part of him. The character will be just another governor without it. Well, a lot worse, but you get the point.

Enslave women? This makes it sound like the Saviors run around kidnapping women.

I love the casting. I think he’ll be great. And he’s nice on the eyes too. Heh.

    PERFECT CASTING. NO COMPLAINTS.

It is just going to be really interesting how they handle the character. My guess is that they trade fuck for shit and go from there. “Here I am friendly as a shitless shit on a shitty day.” I mean not as good but it will be better than half his dialogue being bleeped out.

He’s perfect! Way to go TWD, you’ve nailed another iconic character!

That said, I assumed before this season started that we would be introduced to Negan in the season finale, so nothing crazy there. I’m really interested in how they put together the big scene from the comics though. Will they put in a substitute in the show?

My prediction is that the group is going to finally give in and accept that Glenn is dead… only to have him fire off a flare shortly after that. A few episodes later, Glenn will meet his true demise at the hands of Negan.

That said, I’m getting really turned off by this whole Glenn death troll that the show is pulling right now. It feels cheap no matter the outcome.

I love him! I think he will do a great job.

so i dont usually comment but i must say this as i could be feasible. what if the saviors saved glenn and kept him prisioner and the comic story arc still occured? you think its possible

I think the casting choice is brilliant. He’s shown he can be ruthless and brutal as The Comedian, but he also has that charm factor that makes Negan almost likable. Great choice and props to the Producers.
In regards to the story line, I’m excited to see him kill a major cast member with Lucille (because I don’t believe it will be Glenn at this point, even if he is still alive. I wouldn’t be surprised if Maggie died at his hands).

I think Daryl or Morgan are top picks for his intro. Not excited about either one of them dying but that’s the way of the show. I’ve never seen this guy in anything else but I’m going to check him out. I’m hoping I like him as much as I like comic Began. Bring on the FUCKING fuck rants lol I love NEGAN.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be a great Negan. I guess this means he won’t be Alicia’s love interest on The Good Wife. lol

The headline says it all… Holy HOLY F**KING F**K! What an amazing choice with Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Incredible actor that will be a great fit for the character. Fantastic casting as always TWD!!!

Woo hoo! Glad to hear Negan will be represented in the show as well. I have to agree that muting his f’enheimers would be a much better choice then beeping, or even worse, him say mother dick all the time!

I still think Kevin Durand would’ve been an EPIC choice.
He looks EXACTLY like him… But JDM… I do like him as an actor, and if he can do the role justice… all the more power to him.
