Fans won’t have to wait long for the second half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 5. The zombie drama, which recently added Austin Amelio’s Dwight, brought back Ruben Blades’ Daniel, and introduced a number of new actors to the cast, will only take three weeks off following its Mid-Season Finale on Sunday, July 21st. The second half of the season, also referred to Season 5B, will air its Mid-Season Premiere on Sunday, August 11th. This is much earlier than usual. Undead Walking and INSIDER’s Kirsten Acuna first confirmed the news with AMC.

For comparison’s sake: Fear’s fourth season took a break from June 10th – August 12th, and its third season took a break from July 9th – September 10th. This three week hiatus will officially be the shortest time in between half-seasons. This is probably due to Fear’s later premiere date AND a possible early return date for The Walking Dead, which could premiere Season 10 in early October. Stay tuned for more news on the latter when San Diego Comic Con rolls around in a month. In the meantime, check out the trailer for next week’s new episode of Fear!
