Mercer and Dwight both made bold moves in The Walking Dead Issue 185, but it was Mercer who moved up with Dwight ended up in the slammer.
1. Rick
Rick may have let his emotions slip a bit this episode but he was still strong enough to reign in Dwight. It was legitimately sad to think that Andrea won’t ever see Commonwealth, but it seems to inspire Rick enough to help make the community great.
2. Pamela
Pamela deserves the second spot in our rankings but it’s clear a storm is coming in the form of Officer Mercer. A lot of people that she wants to make “feel safe” would like to see her taken down, but will they get their wish?
3. Michonne
It was great to see Michonne be there for Rick while he quickly mourned Andrea at the cafe.
4. Maggie
Maggie’s still MIA but still leader of Hilltop, so we’re keeping her in the Top 10.
5. Officer Mercer (+1)
Mercer is yet again dipping his toe in the treason waters by telling Rick HE should be leading Commonwealth. Question is will Rick treat the sentiment the same as he did with Dwight?
6. Lance (+1)
Lance is only getting bumped up because Dwight got moved down.
7. Princess (+1)
Same goes for Princess.
8. Elodie (+1)
…and Elodie.
9. Eugene (+1)
Everything seems to be going right for Eugene. He’s respected by his leaders, he’s helping create a fast way for folks to travel in between communities, and he’s getting to make out with Stephanie. What could possibly go wrong??
10. Magna (+1)
Magna subtly broke the fourth wall this issue when she echoed a familiar fan worry – a time of peace is almost always followed by a time of terror. We’ll see if she’s right in the coming issues.
11. Yumiko (+1)
Yumiko’s also right to think that war might not be coming but conflict could.
12. Maxwell (+1)
Maxwell does hold power but we’re only moving him up because of Dwight’s downfall.
13. Dwight (-8)
Dwight flew too close to the sun and got burned – aka thrown in jail for challenging the Commonwealth soldiers. Even though he’s right to disagree with their way of life, he’s arguably going about this the wrong way.
14. Carl (+1)
Carl’s cover feature didn’t translate into any storylines beyond having an awkward run-in with Sophia.
15. John (-1)
John will soon find himself off the rankings if he doesn’t show up again soon.
16. Jesus
Jesus wasn’t in this issue so he’s staying put.
17. Aaron
Same for Aaron.
18. Sebastian
…and that twerp Sebastian.
