NEGAN LIVES is finally here! Before we dive into this comic discussion (it’s been a while, miss you guys), here’s a quick spoiler warning to anyone who has not yet read the book.

OK, everyone read it? Great. NEGAN LIVES has an intentionally vague timeline that plops us somewhere around the events of Issue #193 (the final issue). The story cures Negan’s “I Am Legend” condition with a cast of new characters, including a female “protagonist” who Negan takes an interest in. Although there are currently no plans to continue the story, NEGAN LIVES leaves off on a juicy cliffhanger that fans will surely be begging writer/creator Robert Kirkman to continue later on.

You cant just leave us hanging like that Robert and Charley!!! Seriously if thats how you end it I’m going to go nuts!!
This was everything I had hoped for. I know Mr. Kirkman has his hands full with Firepower and Oblivion Song, but a Negan Lives series would probably be eclipse the success of the already legendary The Walking Dead.
My favorite part was when he tried to cut the guy in half with a shovel.
Negan Lives could easily be a whole series! Just do a few issues a year!!!
Awesome issue! Although I know the slate is quite full, I would very much be on board for the story to continue on provided there is one to tell. If not, I feel that this was a nice postscript to an already amazing conclusion. Well done!

Oh man. Reading this exactly a year on from #193 and in such a different world. I thought #193 was a bad day (even before my favourite book ended so abruptly I found out at the page turn). Seems crazy in retrospect.
I really liked this. I like it as a story about Negan. I like the possibility of more. I also like it as an ending though. TWD to me was never about reaching a final storybook ending but about the minutiae of life in this world of the dead. We leave Negan with just a bit more hope than he once had and his life continues on… that’s great.
The characters are only seen briefly but Lucy has quite a few aspects to her. She’s seen every side of Negan at once which is fun. Shame there was no Carl/Negan scene. Don’t think they spoke since #127 which just began to hint at a relationship formed over the time jump that never played out.
It also kind of makes me think how awesome this would have been as #193 as part of a new compendium opening up the world but hey…
If there’s more, that would be amazing, but regardless, this is a superb way of supporting retailers and just shows what absolute legends Robert and Charlie are. Nice one!

Felt really good to get to be back in this world again, but I gotta be honest it hurts that it’s a one and done.. I NEED MORE TWD!!!!

I was delighted when this issue was announced! I was grinning ear to ear as I read… I certainly hope there’s more! Would love a Rick Grimes cameo just to get some closure between the two frienemies… I was always sad Rick bit the bullet before the two could reunite!
