You have effectively ruined the story of The Walking Dead for me. It was good at first but after the 146 chapter, I say without a doubt that it is trash. In fact ever since chapter 136 has it been trash.
One of the major problems with your story is Maggie Greene. In my opinion, she’s no longer an essential character to the storyline, and a waste of space. I hate the way you write her. She’s not fit to lead the Hilltop and yet everyone just goes along with it. So far, every choice she’s made has been wrong. From letting Carl off easy because he was protecting Sophia, letting him get to close to Lydia, letting Lydia out into the open where she seduced Carl, and finally… executing the former leader of the Hilltop. I can’t say I liked Gregory, but I will say he’s done great things for the people of the Hilltop, and he provides good comic relief. (If killing him was just to get rid of that, you’re an ass) He even saved Rick once, albeit reluctantly but still. So to then make him so desperate as to kill Maggie to retake his power, and not even do it right… you did not think this one through enough. Gregory’s a smart guy when it comes to these kind of things. How else did he get to be in charge? The idea that he’d administer an insufficient overdose of poison is bullshit. He’d probably overdo it, and make her foam at the mouth. Then it would be obvious but Paul Monroe would have no definitive way of proving it because Maggie would be dead and unable to testify… so fuck you for being an idiot.
Then the execution. I feel you made Maggie too easily convinced that Gregory had to die. After all she’d said to Carl about not killing, I figured she would do something else. But she was afraid of Gregory, afraid of him taking over from her… because she’s a paranoid retard. So she sentences him to death. If that doesn’t strike you as contradictory, what does? Another ‘Fuck You’ for being a moron. Then she had the nerve to defend her stance claiming she had no choice. BULLSHIT, is all I can say to that. She did have other options, such as keeping Gregory behind bars, scaring him into submission, or simply exiling him over to Alexandria, where Rick could deal with him. Instead she took the cowardly option, to kill him so as to COMPLETELY ensure that she would sat in charge of the Hilltop. FUCK YOU AGAIN.
On top of all this, she assaults Rick, a one armed man, with a damaged leg and doesn’t stop even after he goes down. Very fucking courageous. NOT. And she insists this wasn’t her fault and blames Carl for going after her. Except Carl never would have gone after her if she had not let him get close to LYDIA.
And while we’re talking about Lydia, why the hell is she acting like such a fucking bitch? Trust issues, much? Your development of her character does not work well.
If you’re doing all this to bring back the “You Kill You Die” code, you might as well kill everyone. The Whisperers are a bunch of mindless morons, and yet they, or rather YOU have made Rick appear as an idealistic fool by creating these morons into the story, threatening everything Rick has tried to achieve since he discovered the Hilltop. FUCK YOU.
Like Rick told everyone in Volume 3 “You kill, you die… that was probably the most naive thing I ever said.” He was right. If they all have to become savages to survive, what’s the point of even living? They would be no different from the Walking Dead… and they would all deserve to die.
At least, that’s the kind of message you’re giving me. “Fuck mankind.” Well fuck you too, Kirkman. And BTW… don’t explain any of your choices to me, don’t correct me, don’t tell me I’m wrong, don’t make any excuses or justifications, don’t say a DAMN WORD.
Just read what I’ve written to you, then ask yourself: “Is this guy making a valid point, or is he just another asshole, bitching about, what he wants in the comic, that he can’t get?”
I don’t take offense either way.
I’ll just keep reading your comic, online FOR FREE, to see if it’s worth buying.
