I’m guessing either a whole new type of crazy ass people walking with the dead or the thing I’m really hoping for: evolving roamers just existing to plan and fuck shit up (kind of like that 1989 walking dead comic i was so lucky to read)

I don’t necessarily agree that it would be lame. Walkers are a product of evolution, someone might argue that zombies are lame but we find a reason to love them. I think if it is delivered the right way (which I am very confident in Kirkman in doing well) that walkers developing some sort of very underdeveloped speech would be actually kind of interesting. Remember, a lot of time has passed since the turn and this is a disease that completely inherits control over the host. However I think the downside of this idea is that this kind of change would require more future change and it would certainly be lame if in another 50 issues they start carrying guns and driving vehicles.

You want a thought or a prediction here’s one. While the cover makes it look like they are interrogating a walker they aren’t. It’s someone covered in walker guts. I Don’t think they would actually interrogate an actual zombie.

Or we could be a little nicer and be like “Hey man, Negan is really broad and muscular even after being behind bars. This new person looks like they have a completely different, slender body type. The only thing they seem to have in common is long hair.”

It would be a total fail on these covers if that’s the case. The body’s all wrong. And the hair! It’s long but this walker has light colored hair and Negan’s hair is dark! No, no, no.

Lilly is back. Haven’t you guys read the first two chapters of the next novel, “Descent”? You can read them for free right now. Lilly’s whipping Woodbury into shape. And it’s right around the time before Rick’s group encounters the Mega-Herd. A nice bit of added continuity is that Lilly and the Woodbury residents encounter the Mega-Herd first, as it was created by the commotion and chaos of the three-day prison assault.

          • Bastet says:

Yeah, I preordered the novel. I was talking about in the comic. You know, when we got the peek of #127, my first thought was that it was Lilly on the cover.

          • JW Coombs says:

I thought the same exact thing with #127; I was pretty damn convinced too until it was finally released. I even thought that Luke on that cover was Bob Stookey!

. You know the novel is canon to the comic right? They’re one in the same, only difference is one has pictures. LOL

          • Bastet says:

I enjoy the POV of the novels, so if Lilly ever showed up in the comic again, I’d want it to be very brief & leave us with an “Oh, snap!! That was Lilly!!” moment.

Well, he has a point. I mean, you don’t want the cover to spoil what’s going to happen in the issue but still. It’s usually only related in the loosest way.

Whereas we compare it to covers for Kirkman’s other series, Invincible, those covers are almost always on point about what the issue is about.

I feel you. It seems like the nature of the beast with this story though.

And I don’t feel like the majority of the covers are “lies” because they can be related back to the story in some way without giving away the ah ha moments.

Andrew was the small, erratic prisoner who was in love with Dexter. After Rick killed Dexter, and Axel joined the group, Andrew ran away from the prison crying never to return.

Jeff Grimes, is Rick Grime’s brother, Uncle to Carl and brother-in-law to Lori. Rick mentioned him a time or two in the comic. Lori asked Rick about his brother once, and Rick talked to Carl about his “Uncle Jeff”.

Notice that the walker being interogated has red blood in the other cover. It’s not a walker. I think it is someone from a faw away community that’s traveling with a herd in order to track the walker herd migration route. When the survivors changed the trajecory of the walker herd in 127, the people moving with the herd stayed behind to try and observe the Hilltop, Alexandria, and such. This could be survivors from a group in the midwest or something.

“”Quisling” refers to a human that had broken down psychologically due to the presence of zombies and thus begun acting like a zombie. These humans attack other humans mindlessly but are still attacked by actual zombies who can tell the difference.
The phenomena is reportedly akin to Stockholm Syndrome. The living human subject becomes so fearful of zombies that they try to “appease” them, or “switch sides”, in an effort to become the object of their fear. They begin to act like zombies, moving slowly, moaning, attacking and consuming live creatures, even becoming oblivious to the pain from various wounds they might sustain.”

either way, I don’t think Kirk-Man is gonna go down the whole quisling thang. I had never heard of the term until I clicked on a link below, and I doubt that Kirk-Man would expect his audience be familiar with a term from some other zombie franchise. Its just not his style.

I never said Kirkman was copying anyone’s material. I just have a feeling it’s going to be something similar to a Quisling. Some mentally detached, traumatized psycho who’s living amongst the dead. But, until I know the exact details, and whatever term ends up being used in TWD comic, the best way I can describe them is with the term “Quislings”. Jeez, smh.
