Tales from Skybound: Helen

Whew! The holidays are a busy time of year at Skybound. With our Black Friday sale just having wrapped, and The Walking Dead Assault downloadable for free on iOS, we started December off with a bang. Fortunately, I did find time to bake cookies for the office. They disappeared in record time, despite my terrible baking skills. In fairness, I ate most of them. What can I say? I needed a sugar boost.

Sometimes you need an antidote to the holiday cheer, though, or at least I do. If all the carols and shopping get to be too much for you, be sure to check out Dead Body Road, in stores this coming Wednesday 12/11. Nothing like bloody revenge to wash away the taste of too much fruit cake! (Or check it out even if you love the holidays. Either way it’s damn good.)

Tales from Skybound: Brian

Hey it's me again! So what's new at Skybound? Well today the news dropped that one of our newest titles (so new it's not even out until next year) Outcast has been picked up by Cinemax! Knowing what Robert gets away with at AMC I can't wait to see what he does on a pay channel.

Image Comics announced the next Image Expo for January 9th! So soon! We'll be there and you can get tickets to that right here.

Even with both of those news bombs AND The Walking Dead 116 coming out this week, I'm most excited about Manifest Destiny finally coming out. It's so beautifully drawn and such an awesome story that I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks. I just read the second issue last week and am DYING for the third now. Check out a preview of issue 1. I'll have an interview with artist Matt Roberts tomorrow.

A couple other quick things. If you want to stay on top of all the big Skybound announcements, we have a newsletter that we send roughly once a month (and usually once before a con). They're short and sweet and I recommend you sign up.

And lastly, our Walking Dead Facebook page was recently verified. We're legit! Come give it a like. We do contests, discussions, sneak peaks, etc.

That's all I got for now! Make sure you check out Manifest Destiny and if you like it, tell your friends and tell your local comic shop (that's super important for publishers—not just for sales but gauging interest as well)! And be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Dead Body Road next month!

Later gang!

Tales from Skybound: Chad

Your intrepid foreign rights manager recently returned from the Frankfurt Book Fair where, in addition to a raging cold, he acquired a number of new publishing contacts in Asia, Latin America, and Europe. The Frankfurt Book Fair is basically like San Diego Comic-Con, but with business suits instead of costumes, and handshaking in place of cosplay (hence that cold). So, not quite as fun and fancy-free, but a great place to get a lot of business done. And there is certainly a lot of business to be done when it comes to Skybound overseas...

THE WALKING DEAD currently appears in 29 non-English-speaking territories, and counting. A few of these (such as: Bolivia, China, Israel, Russia, and the Ukraine) will debut their first volume in the coming months! If you've been to Paris recently, you may have seen this:

The French love their WALKING DEAD, absolument. (And yes, that's what they call it there, "WALKING DEAD," minus the "THE." But in Spain, it's LOS MUERTOS VIVIANTES, which is pretty cool.)

Greetings from New York Comic Con! Over the past few days, Skybound has descended on the city en masse. I landed yesterday, and after a short break to catch my breath (and sample some of the great food around here!) I hit the ground running this morning.
